William's Godparents and Parents

William's Baptism

William was baptized on Sunday at St. Thomas the Apostle. Father Moran, who performed our wedding almost 2-years ago to the day, also performed the baptism. It was wonderful to see him at the altar again. William napped through the mass, but was alert and interested in his baptism ceremony. Well most of the baptism, he did express his desire to speed it up at the end.

Car Breaks Down in NJ

Our first "out of state" trip turned into an impromptu overnighter when our Grand Am broke down. Fortunately it broke down in front of the Allen's home in NJ, so the experience could have been a lot more difficult. Although it was still at night, and in the rain, and required a tow, which was plenty inconvenient. The silver lining is that William and his parents got to spend a little more time with their NJ family.

The thumb has been discovered

The first intentional sucking of the thumb occured on Saturday. William was pleased to find his very own pacifier attached to each of his arms. We'll have to wait and see if this is something that he wants to do regularly or just on special occassions.

Notre Dame Loses to Michigan State - William and Charlie are not pleased

We watched the thrid game of the season with the Kavanaghs & Company on Saturday. Unfortunately, Notre Dame lost to MSU when the clock ran out. It was the first loss William ever witnessed. Neither Little William nor Little Charlie were pleased.

William brings home 2nd Notre Dame Win

Notre Dame beat big time rival Michigan on Saturday, mostly due to William's team spirit. The 2nd win of the season. Still undefeated....... Still hope for a championship.

Smiles, Boxing, and Talking

Here's a clip of William showing a collection of his latest skills.

William's First Day to the Beach

We drove down to Rocky Neck State Park on the shore for a day at the beach. Little William loved the warm air and the cool breeze. He put his toes in the sand for the first time, and dipped his feet in the ocean for the first time. Then topped the day off with a nap in the shade. Not bad at all.

Williams First Notre Dame Game

Momma & Pappa Remington gave William his first taste of Notre Dame Gameday Football on Saturday. We all wore our jerseys, and Notre Dame beat San Diego State University 21-13 in a nailbiter.

William and Alex celebrate Notre Dame's first touchdown of the season, and William's first ever ND touchdown! One of many I hope....

Congrats to Greg Hayden - Winner of the Baby Birth Poll

Greg Hayden, currently of Kentucky (formerly of CT, formerly of Sudbury, MA) won William's Baby Birth Poll with 322.75 points. He guessed the closest date (and latest), July 29th 12.29 pm (12/29 is his Birthday), and a reasonable weight and length, 7 lbs 7 ounces, and 19 inches. A little stouter guess than William's actual nimble 6 lbs 10 ounces and 20 inches, but a winning guess nontheless.

Cheers to Greg Hayden - Baby Prophet.

This may be the cutest thing ever

William's 4-week celebration

It's hard to believe William is 4 weeks already! You would think that with the lack of sleep it would seem like 8 weeks, but it is just flying by. Mommy & Daddy love watching those cheeks grow!

First Real Bath...... and no tears

William enjoyed his first REAL bath tonight! His umbilical cord fell off the other day, which means the sponge bath is no longer needed. He liked the real bath...no tears! The sponge bath...not so much.

Look at those cheeks!

For William

"May he be brave, and have the strong head to think with, and the strong heart to love with, and the strong hands to work with, and the strong feet to travel with, and always come home safe to his own."

First trip out to eat - Brunch at Tisane

Lori and Alex had their first successful trip out to eat with William. It was a gorgeous blue-skied summer day on Sunday, so we decided to stroll down the street to Tisane for some brunch and coffee. We ate out on the patio and enjoyed the summer air and the interesting people watching. William was really well-behaved and only got fussy a little bit.

Uncle Artie and Aunt Danielle Visit

Artie and Danielle came up from New Jersey to visit William on Saturday afternoon. We lounged around the apartment and then strolled down to the park for some fresh air. William loved meeting his aunt and uncle!

Thanks to Grandma Remington for support during week 2

Grandma Remington provided much needed domestic, culinary, and loving support in our second week with our little man. Grandma Remington cooked meals, did laundry, and helped us as the effects of sleep deprivation acummulated.

Thanks to Grandma Remington!

Love,
Alex, Lori & William

2nd Pediatrician Appointment a resounding success

William's appetite has proven fruitful. Dr. Rifkin weighed William in at 7 lbs 7 ounces today. Far exceeding his 6 lbs 10 ounce target. Also he's grown to 20.25" long. He's healthy, happy, and growing by the minute.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Alex reluctantly returned to work this week, and had trouble concentrating. Any time away from William is wasted time. He progresses so rapidly. Alex doesn't want to miss a moment.

During week 2 William has gotten stronger each day. He loves watching the Olympics with us. We have been watching Phelps win another gold trying to beat Mark Spitz's record . Maybe we'll see William at the Olympics some day. He has the potential to do anything in the world right now. How exciting!
